Wildfires are often caused by human activity. High winds & dry conditions can set the stage for potentially severe fires. The most common causes are:
- When burning debris is not properly contained & sparks or burning trash blow into the air, and
- When controlled burns are set during burn bans or poor conditions and get out of control.
When doing a controlled burn in the City, you are required to make sure there isn't a burn ban on and that conditions are okay for the burn. You must also register your burn with the City. You can either by call Tuttle 911 at 405-381-4467 or click HERE, review the rules, and submit the online form.
